I love pesto not only because it’s healthy but also because it’s great with many different dishes. There are a few different options to make pesto. I make it with basil, olive oil, pine nuts (or nuts), parmesan and garlic. But, you can also add lemon for a more kids friendly version (or even take the garlic out). Another great option is to mix it with sour cream and use it as a dip.

Each of the ingredients in the recipe has it’s own health benefits and together this dish can be a part of a well-balanced diet. Basil is an excellent source of vitamins, promotes blood flow and is used in aromatherapy. Olive oil Contains Large Amounts of Antioxidants and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Garlic is known to regulate blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

Make this easy pesto recipe at home. This recipe has a beautiful color and fresh flavor. Try adding it to the Mediterranean Chicken in Pesto and Olives.  or the Bacon Warraped Pesto Chicken, and the sweet potato recipe from our collection. It also super tasty and healthy on gluten-free pasta, gluten-free bread and even on white fish.

You can eat this raw or after cooking it.
